I’m not very experienced with lovebird injuries, but do take him to the vet STRAIGHT AWAY and make sure they specialise in birds. My lovie got sick and I was reluctant to take them to the vet, when I did, it wasn’t an avian vet, and she died the next day. So please take him to the vet straight away. You can ask for a payment plan if you don’t have the money straight away.

Looking at your bird, it´s likely they will need pain meds as well. Definitely head on down to see your vet and get him looked at.
It´s good you separated the birds, keep them separated, and then in the future you can try slowly introducing them again, but under close supervision.
