Urgent Hurt foot !!

My parrot hurt her foot! :sad4:
I don’t know how it happened she was just sitting on the TV and I noticed she was moving around a lot as if she was losing balance so I looked at her and saw she kept touching her foot. When I checked, her right foot was really red as if it was about to bleed (it didn’t), it looked like her skin scraped off! She didn’t scream or anything and she kept touching it, which I stopped her from doing. I just put a little bit of baby powder on it and now she’s just sitting here with her right leg up. It’s too late to take her to the vet right now.
What do I do?

These were the best photos I could take at the moment...

Does it look serious?
Do you think her foot will get better naturally?

I know you guys aren’t vets but I’d appreciate some advice, thanks!

First thing to do is wash the baby powder off of her foot. It has all sorts of crud in it, including perfume. Then dry her foot or let it dry and put a tiny bit of antibiotic salve on it.

It's a little hard to see how bad it is in the pictures, so maybe you should put her in a small cage without a perch and a towel on the bottom. Then we will take another look at it tomorrow.

@Hankmacaw Thanks for the reply! And yes, I washed the baby powder off shortly after putting it on.

I also managed to take a better picture

It doesn't look bad at all. Just go ahead with the plan I gave you and we can see how it is in the morning.

Could possibly be bumblefoot, but looks more like a scrape to me.

Her foot was alright in the morning, however, literally only 10 minutes ago another scrape like mark appeared on her other foot! I’m really worried... she’s got a vet appointment tomorrow. I’m starting to think it might be bumblefoot...

Again, I know it’s not a great picture but does anyone know what I should do?

Have you checked her cage and her toys and everything she may have walked on? That again looks like a scrape. She may be getting her feet caught in something and scraping herself when pulling them out.

Another thought is that she is getting her feet into something that is irritating them badly.

@Hankmacaw thanks for replying again
I cleaned her whole cage today and removed anything I thought could be irritating her but her foot still got hurt for some reason, it was so sudden :sad2:

Strange that it happened on both feet.

Run your fingers across every cage bar, dish holders, door, perches, etc. There could be a tiny sharp spot on one.

According to research:
Bumble foot is basically a staph infection, which is treatable. I'd also ask the vet to do a test for the Vitamin A level. Often it can be the cause. If it is Bumble Foot your vet should give antibiotics & ointment.

I will say that the most important thing is to find the place that is hurting her feet. So do that now and don't stop until you find it!

You can clean her wounds with water but don't put anything on if you haven't got antibiotic salve at home. It's better that the wound is dry.
And your vet can give you better advice tomorrow after exam.

Bumblefoot does not develop suddenly, so if you know her other foot looked okay last night, it's not that. Could she be picking at her feet for some reason?

Just an update...

We went to the vets and thankfully it’s not bumblefoot, they said the marks were burns and they would heal quickly, they also gave us medicine. I’m glad I know what it is now :waitsws2:

Thanks for the advice everyone!

Do you know what could have burned her? I’m glad she should heal fine.

It's burns? My goodness what did she get burned with?
And I said as before, you must find the place that is hurting her.
If you can't, then it is cage and only 100% supervised outdoor time.
