We talked to our vet today and decided to up Howard's glyburide to 1.5 ml. His liver is very enlarged which we knew from our first visit after we adopted him. When we increased his glipizide he could hardly move slept all day and was unbalanced. We don't want to see him like that again so I'm hoping he does better with the different meds. I know there is no cure and there is a chance we never get his blood sugars down like it should be.

Hi Howard - be a good boy and get that liver swelling down for your mom.

Hoping Howard does better on the new meds. I had a friend who had a diabetic parrot. He got insulin shots every day and lived many years. Never give up hope. Howard is so lucky to have you! I would say that you are his angel in disguise.
