I have 2 silverbills in my living room and am looking around for 2 More birds to accompany them.
I am not sure how i can do quarantine.
is it needed to do this in seperate rooms?
I have these options:
place the cage with the new birds;
- in my bedroom
- in the toilet
- in the garage ( too cold now 4c , too humied)
- in the living room, about 5-7 meters away from my current birds.
- in the hallway

If a seperate room is needed, toilet might the best option.
Hallway and bedroom isn't practical because of crossing the hallway often. and bedroom,well,we sleep there and would take any illness with us to our current birds i think.

What is needed and what would be the best option?

I always opt to quarantine new birds in a different room to the resident flock in case of airborne disease, some things like the red mites don't tend to travel too far from their hosts but it's not impossible for them to cross a room. Using separate cleaning equipment and I'll always clean out the residents before then doing the new birds, washing everything thoroughly as I go. For the options of areas, I would go bedroom (just because that's what I do and I find I can keep an eye on them for anything out of the ordinary easier), there is always the risk of zoonotic diseases ofcourse but I think I'd worry about having them in the toilet room incase of being disrupted at night causing night frights (I know that can happen anywhere but feel the risk is increased if it's in a room that is frequently used).

A separate room is best with limited access and as far away from your other birds as possible. There are basic rules that I go by:
1. Anything needed in quarantine is already within the room before you bring in the birds; that includes trash can and liners , separate food and water, separate food and water dishes, cleaning supplies ie: paper towels wipes etc,
2. You must have hand washing station within quarantine to use before you leave that area. Shoe covers are essential also. You don’t leave the quarantine without removing shoe covers and through hand washing
3 Get any new birds to certified avian vet asap for blood, feces and physical exam.
