..Acorn Squash Seeds for the girls?

I am about to steam some of the acorn pieces for her and Chiquitta, but I know they might enjoy those seeds as well. Should I bake them like pumpkin seeds, give them to them raw, dry them out first, steam them along with the squash?

When Squeeky has Squash we usually bake the seeds to make them more crispy. It catches his attention more that way.

Hmm, I just searched acorn squash online and a million pics like that came up, LOL My camera battery was dead so I couldnt take my own photo!
But the label on mine said Acorn Squash! LOL

Thanks Guys, I baked half and gave half raw - the raw ones were a hit!

Yes that is a butternut squash...great for the birds....I cut mine in half like your picture, dig out the seeds, turn cut side down on sheet pan and bake at 350º JUST until you can push a knife through the solid part....take out, skin, and cut up in cubes for the birds....mine like this slightly firm...they won't eat it raw! but they will eat the seeds raw!LOL
