I have all real wood perches in my budgies cage, all I've been doing is scraping off the poo. Is there a way I could actually wash them?

Hot water work great! Scrub them with a brush and a safe cleaner (vingar, F10) if you want.

Yup, I have a dish scrubber (the wand thing, not just a sponge, though that would work, too) that's dedicated to items with bird poo. Hot water and elbow grease go a long way!

Hot water with vinegar and fairy, and a dish brush :) (buy a different colour dish brush, or mark it with coloured tape around the handle)

I always let the perches DRY before allowing the bird back into the cage [or putting perches back in! ].

I use paper towels, a scrubby thing, hot water and apple-cider vinegar! It can be a pain though... I usually just scrape the poop off, and only do the 'deep cleaning' for the perches when I do a deep cleaning for the cage, too! Then it's all nice and clean for my birdies! :)

Hot water, Poop Off, more hot water and then a day in the Arizona summer sun and they are as good as new.

I take them out, soak, and then use a drill brush!

If it's in the cage and needs a quick wash, I use either Nature's Miracle and a scrubby sponge, or I use my steam cleaner.

Am I the only one who traumatizes the family by putting them in the dishwasher in the sanitary cycle?

I wait until my rinse aid runs out to do them. I also don't completely fill the rinse aid spot so I don't have to wait so long between washes :)

I do not do wood perches as I worry they would split.

I don't do heated dry because a lot of them use hot glue to keep the caps on and I've heard some people say they've had theirs fall off because of the heat. So I either put them out in the sun or put them over the shower curtain rod with a fan on them.
