How do I get my budgie to eat veggies?

I’m so used to Phoenix trying new foods right away that I forget that not all parakeets are that easy.
Raijū is a huge seed junkie. It’s all he really wants to eat. I’ve tried hanging up kale, broccoli, cucumbers, everything Phoenix eats as well as offering them diced, cooked, etc. but he’s yet to try to touch them.
Any tips? It was so easy with Phoenix because when Phoenix saw me eating new foods he’d want some too, but Raijū isn’t bonded to me like Phoenix is. I’m hoping once Phoenix and Raijū are bonded Phoenix can show him the good stuff.

I’ve also only been trying for two weeks (every day of course) because I didn’t want to traumatize Raijū with a bunch of new things at once. Is it normal for them to take this long?

Don´t worry. Just be consistent, hopefully you will get there in the end.

Offer the veggies in the morning with a little seed or quinoa sprinkled on top, removing the seed/pellets bowl for 15/20 minutes or so. You can try again in the afternoon after the nap.

I actually left some diced cucumbers on his platform perch as usual today but left the room this time, came back an hour later and they were gone!! Couldn’t find them in the cage anywhere, I assume he ate them. I’m so happy!

As the relationship with Phoenix develops he'll notice what Phoenix is eating and try it himself. Budgie see budgie do.

Have you tried offering him sprouted seed? Aurelius won't touch veggies, though he sees Winston eating them, but he'll eat sprouted seed because Winston does.

I have but he would never touch them. I think I’ll try offering them to both him and Phoenix today though, I think if he sees Phoenix eating it he’ll eat it too

Now that they are together put out the chop in one dish for both of them. Budgies will often copy another budgie, especially when it comes to food.
