How can I make vinegar and water cleaning mixture smell nice?

Hello!
I need some suggestions on how to make my vinegar and water cleaning mix smell nice. I want something that will make the cage smell clean and lovely. Can I squeeze lemon or orange in my mixture? Please give me some safe suggestions that won’t cause any mold or anything of that sort in my cleaning mixture. Thanks!!

The article did suggest storing it in a cool dark place. The longer you leave the citrus in the vinigar the darker it will get.

I just use vinegar & water as is. As soon as it dries, there's no smell.
