Hi,

So single budgie chick fledged yesterday, I notice Dad gets a little too excited still and tries to mount the 6 week old chick (he is confusing the feed cry for his female partner) chick is still taking food from Dad but also seems to be attempting to eat seed himself.

Do I need to seperate chick in its own individual cage (alone?) Mum is not interested but occasionally stops Dad in his process.

No more nest box, no more eggs or breeding, Mum is clearly finished.

If the dad is trying to mount the chick, then yes, separate them. You can feed the chick some formula on a teaspoon if needs be, as well as offering the adult foods around the cage.
