Mojo likes to destroy toys and thats fine but she shows little interest in her foraging toys.
So thought i would try and make something that would grab her interest be simple for her to gain some reward that she can also destroy.
I came up with the following

20210612_120850.jpg

Kitchen roll holder cut into a few bits stuffled with crinkle paper and some millet, pieces of nutreberry and a couple of sunflower seeds hidden amongst the paper.

Same sort of idea from the few bits i had (note to self order more toy making bits )
I had a plastic ball that is far to big for Mojo so thought i would try and turn into another foraging toy.

Once they get that they can pull items out of forage balls like that, they quickly make short work of it! Try plastic straws stuck in there- Queenie loves those. Wooden chopsticks too!

You can find paper straws (well, they´re more like cardboard) at some places if you don´t want plastic ;)

I mentioned plastic straws to my wife and she reminded me they are banned in the UK so will have to look for paper.

Nice one

You might have luck in asda or sainsburys or whatever supermarket you use :geek:

(edit; asda sell 150 for 1.50 in the home section ;) )

I know I´ve seen some folks ¨sharpen¨ straws (in a clean pencil sharpener) to create curly ringlets, pretty cool, and I think that would work with paper ones too :)

Today I learned plastic straws are banned in the UK. Maybe I send Mojo some for her birthday. They’re super fun to make confetti out of, according to my conure sources.

Added the toys to Mojos cage today 20210613_173145.jpg

Signs of interest on the floor of the cage after a hour of adding.

The top piece of the toy had paper and millet in this morning.

Quite happy with the interest shown so far both foraging toys have been shown some interest.

Will reload them both tonight and the Kitchen roll toy is going to get raised higher so Mojo can access it better.

The ball forager has been a massive hit deffo got the Mojo seal of approval.
The kitchen roll tube not so much i think the wooden blocks are to obstructive so have had another idea that i will put together at the weekend.

I will also be upgrading the ball forager once my order arrives this week.

Given the success of the foraging toy i made with the ball ( that ended up in Mojos cage )
I had planned to make another for her play gym i finally got round to it yesterday.

20210619_172623.jpg

Of a evening she has been playing on the coffee table in front of the couch with a few lolly sticks and pieces of wood. 20210617_211115.jpg

So i thought i needed to do something a bit more engaging for her so made a load of smaller little toys stainless steel tray that my wife had somewhere.

20210620_113722.jpg

Far to many toys on it but can swap things out each day to keep things fresh.

20210620_113955.jpg

Pieces of nutriberry some millet and some sunflower seed hidden within some of the toys and in the paper.

Such colourful toys! Love the big bowl too! I wish I could give my birds something like that but the girls would kill each other to have that all for themselves to make a nest in
Mojo sure is one lucky bird!! :)
