I don’t know what this means because I can’t find much information about a male budgie with a brown cere that isn’t cancer. Some of you may know his story from over a year ago but his cere turned brown from hormones the vet thinks. It could possibly be hyperkeratosis or feminization. Anyway his cere is peeling! Hopefully it’ll all peel off and go back to blue but I won’t get my hopes up.

Ollie, you are a unique and lovely little budgie! Have you sent the photos to his vet?

I might soften up the cere and beak with a little rub of coconut or olive oil.

I think it looks ok. I’m glad he’s doing better.

He looks beautiful . Very bright eyed.

But sadly most is linked with the big C . Unfortunately male reproductive C in budgies....

Hopefully he still enjoying a long happy life with you .

Multiple Vets have ruled out cancer and an X-ray done came back clear. It’s been over a year with no changes. I hope that he’s okay because that’s all that I can do since vets dont see anything wrong :)

Is this safe for them??
Yes, if you don’t use so much as to get the rest of the bird oily. My Quaker had a foot injury and after that I had to moisturize her foot.
it might help to soften the dead layers and let it come off if it’s truly separated.

Yep he’s been to about 3 different vets and X-rayed. Everything came back as normal. Vets think it’s hormones or super tiny benign tumors.
Oh I know, I’m sorry! What I meant was have you sent the peeling return to the blue color to your vet. He is a mystery boy!
