Hello
I'm new here, so i still don't know how to use this web correctly. But I've been taking care of a cockatiel for almost a year and half. His name is Pofack and he was with me and my family ever since he was two months old.
But except the times when it was necessary, i never took him out for something like casual walking.
But lately, I was considering to take him out more with those backpacks, but I'm a bit worried that it might scare him since he's not used to it

Sorry for grammar and spelling mistakes, English isn't my first language:]*

Hello, Welcome to Avian Avenue!

It is always good to practice at home. So buy the carrier, and have it open in the room so your bird can freely go in and out, put treats and toys inside to make it a fun place.
Once he is comfortable going in and out, close the carrier and take him for a mini tour of your home for a few minutes before opening the carrier, giving a treat. Repeat.
After a few trips, you can venture outside, keep the trips short at first, try to stay away from noisy or busy places while he gets used to it, and try to always give a reward or treat once let out of the carrier :)
