I’m hearing a high pitch wheezing sound as my Parakeet breaths in and out, but only when he’s sleeping. He’s playing and doing everything else normally-Singing, squawking and energetic. I do however see him sometimes at the bottom of his cage in a corner, but then he jumps around and keeps playing. I read online that it most Likely a respiratory problem. I don’t have a Aviary Vet. What can I do to help him recover that’s wholistic. I placed a thin heating pad in the lowest setting on his cage and I would like to give him some Chamomile Tea, but I don’t know if all the ingredients are safe. It’s caffeine free Bigelow Sweet Dreams herbal tea. Ingredients are: chamomile, hibiscus, peppermint leaves, rose blossoms, spearmint leaves, SPICE, orange blossoms.
Any advice please?

If it’s a respiratory infection, you definitely need a vet. Where are you located? We might be able to help you find an avian vet near you.

I’m trying to post a video but I’m not sure why I’m having difficulty.
You have to upload it via YouTube or another site like that

If your little one has a respiratory infection then no amount of herbal tea will fix it. You will need proper medication from a vet- preferably an avian vet as soon as possible.

I would not share that particular tea with my bird if I had it. What exactly is the "spice" they have used and why is it written in capital letters? I specifically asked about this because this is the first time I have ever seen this kind of thing on an ingredient list- the actual spice used is usually listed in my experience.

Ask the vet for the respiratory infection, doing swab from the crop maybe, or ask him it he finds it to be a thyroid problem.
