Hi Everyone

I have a question that I hope I could get some help with. I have a mini hahn macaw and he's a awesome bird. But lately when I sit on the couch with him he circles my face and starts talking and he starts to bite my nose and try and bite my lip. With my wife he is really good always kisses her and is nice but always tried to hurt me which he never use to. He does this thing where we taught him to make a kissing noise then say kisses to kiss him but when he does it he is baiting me so he can bite my lip any advice would be really appreciated?

Thanks for your time
Sam

Welcome to the Avenue :hiya:

If you know he is wanting to bite you instead of kiss then do not give him the opportunity- interact in ways that doesn’t get you bitten, each successful bite is encouraging more to come and your reaction is likely quite rewarding to your bird.
There are a few different reasons he could be biting you but ultimately the best thing is to always avoid giving him the chance to get you.

It didn't show my smile face at the end of my reply but it didn't show it haha
If you´re on your phone, those emojis don´t work here. You need to click the smiley face button above the text box and choose smiley faces from that menu instead ;)
