I was getting ready to give everyone their last feed for the night and when I came into the room, I wondered where their role-model budgie was. I could hear begging noises from the baby box in the weaning cage. I opened it, and out popped Mister Salt. Hmm... They've been in the cage for a full day now.
Then I went to feed everyone and four of five of them had half-full crops. Hmm again. I leave the cage door open while I feed so Salt can have a bit of a flyabout. I left the room to rinse formula off my fingers before feeding the last baby, and when I came back, this is what I saw!
He's trying to steal my job!
It is his baby, but they've been separated for two weeks and he's feeding some that aren't his too. Silly, but very sweet boy.
