Hi conure lovers! Chiloé is already 6 months old so I figure it's time for an update! I still havn't dna sexed her... i'm a hopeless procrastinator... but she's doing great! i'm thinking she might be a girl because she's on the small side for a patty. (245gr) Usually males are bigger than females but it could also be an individual thing so... we'll see when I end up getting it done! she's slowly loosing her baby traits (her beak is nearly black!) and she's still an amazing companion. She's very hyper, always getting in to everything, very velcro with all of us and very sociable with any human being. She just has to go and say hello to strangers even if they are very scared of birds and nearly throw her off... she'll just instist on landing on them. She can be VERY stuborn when she want's something and a little sassy! she's never far from us/on us but she's also getting better at playing and exploring on her own, wich is a good thing. She's still super cudly and loves restling and flopping on her back like a puppy. She also loves playing peekaboo under covers and chasing us on the floor. So goofy. ^^ Chiloé makes the most adorable sounds and she seems to be picking up on human language. Such a non stop chatter box! even if we rarely understand much. She vocalises a lot and loudly. When playing she actually squeels. Haha Fortunatly, my pis are still very well behaved and very rarely join in. She gets along with them even though they always keep a respectful distance. I can have them on me at the same time without them bickering and they share playstands so i'm very pleased! Chiloé is a very self confident bird, never scared of anything, full of personality. She's not very destructive. Yes, she loves shredding things, is pretty mechanical oriented and will try and play with your buttons, zippers, join in when the children play with legos and puzzles and just run away with pieces when they complain. Lol but she's never damaged furniture. She's very nippy to, not in a mean biting way but she comunicates with her beack a lot and is still learning to control her strength when she gets over excited. I love how she snugles up to my face or just lays in my lap for a foot massage.^^ Such a sweetheart. We've also been free flight training her and she's been fantastic! such a natural. She's breathtaking in flight, very agile and her loudness is a huge advantage in flight as she constantly contact calls. Here are a few pictures!
