Try not to panic or become hysterical. Do your best to be as calm as possible around your bird to avoid stressing her.

Get her ready in her travel cage in a quiet area, and then get her to the vet as soon as you can.

Fingers crossed for you both.
she is currently in her travel cage ready to go

Wish her luck, she needs to be taken to emergency clinic :sad11: and may need surgery...I hope my parents will allow her to get surgery if she needs because it will cost over a 1000.

I'm so sorry to hear this! I hope your little one will be able to get the surgery if need be and come through safely. Is it a prolapse?

Hi guys, the vet wasn't able to see her today because they were really busy and many were closed. Tomo morning we will rush her to a emergency clinic. If this has occurred to anyone's budgie before, do they just push the prolapse into the abdomen or does it take really long also do u guys know the average cost of pushing the prolapse? The cost for taking her to the clinic is about 300 but there r many additional costs so was just wondering how much the average would be. Also after pushing the tissue in, is it more likely to occur again?

That's very unfortunate they didn't see her today time is of the essence. I don't know the cost but I have heard that unless it's done properly and even then it's not a guarantee that it is prone to happening again. Normally during the surgery I believe they reduce it to fit back inside and then stitch it up to help it re adhere inside.
Best of luck to your little one,I hope she will continue to be strong.

She just ate and drank water, I hope she'll be fine. She also seemed sweeter like she
knew I wasn't feeling good, she was kissing my hand.

UPDATE: I took her to an emergency vet today. They did an x ray on her and said there is no egg in her but the prolapse kept coming out and going back in. They gave her a pain injection and another injection to stop the swelling. They said that she may have an infection. Apparently today the avian specialist wasn't present so we have another app on Tues. Wish her luck!

Sorry for not keeping u guys updated. Sunny got surgery and they stitched the prolapse back in. They gave her a few meds to take home which r supposed to fit the prolapsed tissue in place. They will remove the stitches next sat but Sunny looks so much better.

That's great that there was no egg present and that they didn't have to reduce the prolapse to get it back inside of her. I'm glad they gave the antibiotics right away, because infection is one of the biggest dangers with a prolapse.

It's now up to you to be a good nurse and do exactly as the veterinarians told you. No playing, futzing around and/or straining for her.

You may consider getting Lupron or Desilorin implants for her they interfere with hormones so she won't produce more eggs.

Your parents have been awfully nice about this (many aren't). Maybe you can figure out something special to help pay them back.

Yea I started a go fund that helped pay half the vet costs. They love Sunny very much now and are willing to do whatever it takes to make her better. The vet did give her the lupron injection to help for a month and I make sure to give her meds on time and keep an eye on her

Thankfully the exposed tissue didn't get infected, I was scared I wasn't applying much lubricant

You are doing fine. Don't hesitate to ask your vet (or one of his techs) for answers when you have questions. These prolapse cases are not easy and you will need to be vigilant.
