Help on change of medication

Hey guys,

My 16 year old cockatoo who takes heart medicine for the past five years has been taking Cherry Flavour on his liquid meds for a while. He takes it on a treat and is the only way he will.
And his pharmacy has recently stopped making the cherry flavour, which he only loves, and I had to order the next best thing of Tutti Frutti.
He noticed first thing and now won't stop throwing his treat that has the medication mixed in it.
He cant be toweled because he has past experiences from his first home and won't take to it.

How long will it take him to get used to the new flavour of his medicine and make him stop throwing his treat around?
It's been a week and he's getting more of a brat about his medicine not being the one he wants.

Can you contact the pharmacy and ask them to get the right flavour back or point you to another pharmacy who still has that flavour on offer?

Sadly I can't do anything about the flavour. They eliminated alot of non-popular ones, it was just the pharmacy gave me a week in advance but took the cherry away before I could get it.
I'm not sure if his doctor has another place that would be able to get it, it's made on the other side of the US from my state so I'm not sure if any other pharmacies make the compounds.
