I picked up two baby lovebirds from an elderly woman who could not tell me much about them. She said the hatched in june. They are fully feathered. She gave me the formula but they dont seem to want it. Im thinking they should be eating on thier own. But im worried.

Can you post a picture of them? If they are almost eight months old they should be eating on their own. Do you have any other food that you could try to feed them like pellets or seed?

These birds should be eating alone now if they hatched in June. Are they eating seeds and millets?

Welcome to the Avenue Lisa :)

What other foods are you offering? A millet spray, some seeds and some pellets are a good start.
Try and weigh the birds if you can, monitor their weight.

Ive offered banana crushed peanut. The lowdown is the woman is severely handicapped her husband just passed. The babies were with the parents. We seperated them today. I kept the nest box. They pecked at the formula then just seemed content to cuddle on my neck. When i put them back they climb back in the nest box. I just want to do the right thing.

Here they are
Those birds did not hatch in June. They still have black on their beaks.
Usually young lovebirds enjoy millet on the sprig.
Try offering warm formula on a metal teaspoon. It could be that they were still scared earlier when you tried.

Sorry, I missed this post.
I would steer clear of peanut for lovebirds. Banana is ok.
Maybe she just got confused over the hatch dates while going through such a tough time.
That is good that the little ones are happy to snuggle on you :)
Where are the parents now?

Get some millet for sure when you go out to get seeds and maybe try/get some pellets too if you don't have any.

Around 2 - 2.5months old going off the bird on the left.

I would recommend a cage for them now. Their wings are grown so will need to exercise those. You can put them into their adult cage and put the perches a little lower. Line the cage floor with a blanket for warms and to help them walk on the gird, also to soften any falls.
You can drape a blanket over the back of the cage to give them security while transitioning (it will also keep any draught off)

Glad they seem to be doing well, that you're doing your best to care for them, and that you're getting some solid advice here! It's a lot all at once, but one step at a time... :)

Make the formula as per the instructions and offer some on a spoon before bedtime. Your birds will likely only eat a spoonful. They will stop when they are done.Make sure seed and water is always available.
