I have never heard of anyone putting curtains of any kind directly on a cage as the parrot, especially a large parrot, will chew on them, and can develop an impaction if they ingest too much of the material. I assume that since you purchased this type of cage that you actually put it in a corner, and if so, you could save quite a bit of money by purchasing an angled tension/shower rod and hang any curtain that you want to. The rods come in all different colors/finishes and are fairly inexpensive (between $15 and $50 depending on the size and material/finish). Also, this way you could put as much/little space between the cage and the curtain itself as you wish.
