So we had brought a sun conure 2 month ago
When we first got her
She had minor plucking
Breeder said it might have been siblings over preening
We assumed possible
But we noticed plucking continued
She has been treated for mites
There has been no change on diet
She is served chop and pellet diet (roudybush)
She has lots of foraging toys
She is flighted never clipped
Shes not stressed
I've taken to vet they wan't to do blood test
And I'm trying to tell breeder to get a refund or for them to pay for the cost
As I was sold a supposedly healthy bird

How old is she? It's very unusual for babies to pluck, so usually it's a medical issue if they do. I'd be at the vets trying to see what's going on

Okay I just re-read the first post, sorry! Have you done the blood test the vet wants to do?

She looks very mellow and obviously a nicely behaved bird.
Q-- is that the same diet she was fed at breeder?
Don't understand why the vet won't do a blood test?
Can't blame you for attempting breeders cost assistance...
Tried bathing? Spraying w/ water to encourage proper preening?

OK... anything medical would definately have to be ruled out. I'm sure the vet will be very interested in the blood test results!

Bathing?-- I know there's a product [can't think of the name] that supposidly helps w/ plucking. My vet also suggested a diluted mouthwash and water solution to spray on the body-- though NOT in the eyes.... that would discourage plucking... Never had need to try any of those suggestions.

I would almost think that would form a 'greasy' layer on his skin... I've never heard of that one, but know it's used for human skin lubrication...
Could that be causing his 'irritation/ itching'? Have you tried just daily water spraying?

I think daily water spraying like Pat said would be less harsh on her skin and demote plucking the same way the aloe Vera mixture does.

I see where you are coming from but we didn't use any of these products before hand to cause any skin irritations

If it is a real problem you could try a clear collar
