Sprinting down the street
First I want to take the time to thank everyone over at the Avian 911 forum who took the time to read my first long post; and also help out.
A big shout out goes to @Pixiebeak and @Xoetix.
I am the proud friend of a 20+ year old Sun Conure.
He has been with me since my partying days in my 20's, to my relaxing 30's, and my what the heck is happening to the world 40's.
Tikal speaks in context, enjoys long showers, destroying everything he can get his beak on, and showing me love.
He loves spending time on his playstand, on my shoulder, in my shirt, or even taking naps in my bed with me if I happen to fall asleep during the day.
He moved into my first apartment with me when I was 22 in my hometown, then shared a studio apartment in a North East City, and now he resides in a nice suburban home.
I knew what I was getting into when I found him; however I never expected him to be as intelligent and empathic as he is. Tikal is kind and caring, protective and possessive, and positively to large of a bird for his size.
All in all he is my fid, who has been raised and grown with me, and a best friend.
So that is a small part of my guy journey and identity; I'll share more of mine and his as time goes by.
Thanks for the warm welcome,
Jay
