Hi everyone! Thanks for the add! I’m a new member and am new to bird husbandry in general. I’m looking forward to learning more about all things pet bird! My English Budgie is about 4 months old and I am completely smitten! He’s not yet tame but I’m using frequent, short training moments and am seeing some success so far. He will perch on my finger and (after a few adventures) I can coax him back onto my hand outside the cage. I was even able to tickle him on his cheeks and back of neck/head today! That was an incredibly sweet moment as I don’t grasp him or hold him and he could fly away if he wanted to! I’ve posted a question in the behavior threads and would love to pick your brains about a few things! But for right now, I’m really just saying hello! Hello!

A budding interior designer perhaps? lol But seriously, just an update on Mr. Blue; He is in full on molt now and has started getting his cheek spots. His little eye is still pretty solid black yet, but his cere (not that you can tell from this nighttime lighting) has gone a deep purple blue hue. He seems to have some brown above the cere and I’m just wondering what it might be? Is it hormonal do you think? Thank you for your help!
