Hi,
My name is Sanaa,I live in Lahore, Pakistan. I am a first time parrot owner. Last year my family got me a Congo African grey who was 6 weeks old. His name is Sheikhu. Since its my first experience as a parrot owner I'm hoping this forum can help me. My town doesn't have an avian vet, My baby is almost a year old. Please give me some tips for a one year old Congo African grey.
He has his own natural tree (perch) to climb and play on. I feed him 3 to 4 times a day, a diet of fresh fruit, veggies and seeds. He is not fond of pellets.
Thank you

Hello Sanaa, and welcome to forum. Love the name you chosen for your bird. Hope all is well for you over there and staying safe.
Sounds like you have a good diet going so far. As for pellets, birds can be picky. Try putting pellets in bowl, adding a little warm water and let them soak a bit. My grey won't eat dry pellets. But soak them, and he loves it that way.
There's a wealth of information to be found here on the forum, and many great people with similar birds that will chime in as well and offer advice that will help guide you.

Welcome to the forums and lovely pic :)
As @Hawk12237 suggested, and from my own experience with a fussy macaw, if you soak the pellets beforehand, you may have better success with Sheikhu eating them.

Welcome. I’m new to this site. I purchased myAfrican grey when he was a baby. One thing I know about greys is that they need time to get used to things such as new toys or anything you put in the cage. I’ve had to hang new toys outside the cage for a few weeks before he would accept it When he was young. He’s the best eater. He loves a variety of different fruits and veggies. He does eat pellets too. They make wonderful pets. He knows many words. Just be careful what you say. They repeat everything. We do not swear in this home but when he gets too noisy I’ll tell him to be quiet. I may have said shut up because he says it sometimes. Oscar is now about 17 yrs old.
