hello everyone, could you please help me?( It's long but it's critic) I have two Indian ringnecks, I got them when they were about 1 months old in December 2018, one of them, kisses(his name) loved me, he always was on my shoulder and always sang with me, the other one, kiwi(his name), was always distant and nether really liked me, I accepted it and treated them equally, good food, large cage, lots of love except when I was at school, in overall I spent a good amount of time with them. In 2019, we rescued 4 cats, they were all thrown away in a sealed box in a dumpster. They grew up and became kind of okay with the birds, the only problem was that they were too active, they were disturbing and scaring my birds, keeping them away from having a good amount of sleep. They currently are in their molting stage(important info) So recently, I made the choice of putting my bird cage outside on my balcony, they were scared at first, obviously, but got used to it and started enjoying it. Today, I took them out to hang out in my room in order to socialise them like I always do. When I went to the cage, I noticed that kisses took out 3 feathers of his tail, I thought that their molting stage was ending as they stopped losing that many feathers. So it was off to me. And then when I put both in the room, they started acting weird and didn't even let me touch them, they were annoyed and scared, they wanted to go back to their cage but at the same time they would not let me touch them and wanted to go back to where the cage was before. The thing is that I only let them one day outside and visited then every one hour or so, so what's the deal? I'm lost, I'm scared that they both become antisocial and sick. Help me. I want to act as fast as possible

Maybe the tail feathers came out by another animal that attacked them on the balcony? Is the balcony completely safe from all other types of animals? Is there any type of nest area in their cage? I would try to bring them back to their original spot so they can see you more, and work with them every day to get them back to their old routine, and put the cats somewhere else.

No there's no nest and no harmful animals nearby, my mom always stays in the room where the balcony is and she always check on them, we have a tiny house, not that small but it still is, the cat stay indoors as there are a lot of stray dogs on thee streets, I can't put the cats anywhere else and that's the problem. If anything happened to my bird I'm sure that I would hear it. The Balcony is 100% safe so I really think that kisses dit pluck out his feathers. I decided to move the cage because they were feeling super uncomfortable inside my room, they had like 4 to 5 of sleeping hours a day and I know it's s bad. I'm trying to find solutions but none of them seem correct.

I tried putting a nest before but they did not want to stay in it, they were pretty scared of it so I decided to take it out. I had let it for one week inside their cage but they made no effort

I think it’s good they don’t have a nest, but it could have been a reason for them acting differently.
