I've wondered how heat affects the baby birds in my nest boxes. I usually get chickadees, bluebirds, pygmy nuthatches, and violet green swallows. The violet green swallows nest late because of their diet, so the weather gets hot.
I often see the babies at the nest box hole getting some relatively cooler air and being handy to snatch parental feedings without the parents entering the box.
