Sometimes I'm sure they do these things for that sole purpose. I'm jolted out of a deep brooding to find Monaco isn't babbling to herself, but staring at me intently and clearly trying to bring me back to the present. When I snap out of it, she goes all fluffy and does the long blinks and goes back to whatever she was doing. Her requests for attention are so different that it leads me to believe she is genuinely concerned that I feel better.
