hi
I have just found a fallen nail of my cockatoo (She has pbhd), i checked her feets and she hasn't bleed, there was just a new nail in smaller size grown in the spot of the fallen nail. also the hard skin around the Fallen nail has fell a bit as well (Only for that single toe). Has anyone seen this situation before? Is this a serious situation?
Regards

Could you get a picture of the toe itself?

You're going to need a specialist my friend. A good vet who has real knowledge dealing with the disease. This is almost certainly related IMO.

Necrosis and deformities of the nails is possible in late stage pbfd and common in cockatoos. You need to have the foot inspected to make sure the bird has not developed necrosis nor has a deformity that leaves it susceptible to infection.
