Hardware store wood?

So this seems like a stupid question. But I’ve got some ideas for building some stands and perches for Valkyrie that are wall mounted. Are there types of wood at the hardware store I should avoid for this? Most lumbar here is “termite resistant” but I don’t think the particle or plywood variations are treated the same.

Would craft store wood be better? I’m not planning anything big, and the perch part would be conventional perches.

You want something "kiln dried". Kiln dried white wood is simply pine, fir, or spruce that has been baked to remove moisture and set sap.

Pressure treated lumbar, plywood, and particle boards, all contain chemicals.

Thank you! Should those also be available at normal hardware stores? Or am I looking for specialty?

Kiln dried white wood should be available at any place with a lumber yard. Menards, Home Depot, Lowe's etc.
