Today is officially Twinkie's 1st anniversary with us! 
We have to celebrate this day since we have no clue how old she is or what time of year she hatched.
I wasn't sure how long Twinkie would be with us. With her injury, it seemed like she probably wouldn't have much time with us. The rescue told us the vet contemplated putting her down, but then saw how much life she had in her eyes and said she could overcome it. And she did. She moves just as quick as the other budgie, she stands up by balancing on her tail base, and she even flies a little around her padded cage! I love Twinkie so much and am thankful for every day with her.
Twinkie is my little inspirational birdy worm, and I would never trade her for the world. So thank you to Sarah who alerted me to her on Petfinder
and my wonderful husband who came home from work only to drive me 100 miles each way to go pick up this darling little girl. I'm lucky to have a husband who understands so much that he drove that far to pick up a little paralyzed budgie
