Happy Gotcha Day, Ripley!

Four year ago, Ripley came into my life at a time I was sure I didn't want any more birds. But when I was browsing Craigslist before selling the cage he is in now, I saw an ad for a likely sick "conure" for $100, and I knew I needed to at least give him a soft spot to land.

Well I fell in love and the rest is history. He's a wonderful bird, with such a huge personality. Celebrating with extra almonds and lots of chippy wood

Yes he's been going through it like crazy!! This is where his woodchip pile is at now I think this is 3 days worth? About 4 skewers worth if I recall, plus some balsa scraps haha

Oh and before anyone gets upset that I don't change cage papers daily, when Ripley is in Chew Mode he doesn't usually poop in his cage. He comes out to do it on my floor , so the paper isn't soiled. He prefers to get a bit of a pile going and then after several days I take it all out for him to start over. It works for us
