Any advice on princess parrots would be greatly appreciated as I'm new to species, and if anyone can tell me which is a male and female. If you have some name segregations please pop in the comments section
Ok first let's welcome our.New editions...
unnamed.. pair.
So long story short I got a request yesterday to take on 2 love birds... Well picked up what are obviously not love birds but princess parrots. Definitely to my surprise.
No shame on the previous owner, who is struggling with dementia and unable to continue to care for them as he is about to enter aged care, however I'm very glad I got them, they were in a dark flooded avairy with moldy seeds full of bugs and who knows what, water with mosquito larvae... It smelt so bad! I'm sure even the owner would have been sad at the state of it as it was obvious he once took great pride in his pets.
So they are both home and in good hands now, settling in well.
Once settled in I can create a little more enrichment as they are avairy birds, not tame, enrichment will look a little different for them than my pet hand tame birds, with new diet and natural branches, leaves and flowers.
for them at the moment they needed and got a bath which they loved and a good dose of mite spray, fresh pellet, seed and water..
