TODAY I completed my "planned" bird family! Please welcome Oops! to our little flock! The Cheery O's are now complete! I'm sure it will be several days (if EVER) before I can get a pic of them all together, but this will suffice for now! Not sure of the sex... hoping boy, but if another hen the name will DO! The cere was the most purple of the 3 solid yellows available... and he/she was the brightest yellow. Time will tell! I HAVE learned THAT much about these darling babies!!! Right now Oops! is scared, and the other O's are curious. Opal has tried to welcome Oops!, but he/she is being shy! Very different from Oshi who just barged in and took his share of everything right from the start! And Ozzie is just watchful... will be an interesting next few days!

Well... you GOT me! I know nothing of hybrids! It is commonly sold as a FANCY parakeet. Both Opal & Oops! are "fancies"... Oz & Oshi are just plain ol' parakeets!

I wonder, where does the name come from? Has to be a good story there.

No real story... just more in "fitting" with the FEEL of our home... which is named Insanity Prevails... and my overall FAILURE in choosing male birds, try though I may!!! HE is named in HOPE of staving off the result if two prior mistakes! Opal & Oz were both purchased with the notion that they were male... but as they mature I'm realizing ... mistakes were made and one can really not go by their baby cere color!!!
