It is hard to imagine that it has already been 1 year since I brought home my now 20-year-old Ripley!

I remember seeing him on Craigslist as a $100 "Conure", pushing past my anxiety of calling and meeting a stranger in his home alone 45 minutes away to go meet this bird. There were many people interested in him but I was the first one that called and had the money!

I am so glad I did :heart:

He has been nothing but a delight and I am so elated that he gets to have so much good food, freedom, and toys!

Wow, he looks like a completely different bird from last year! Goes to show what good care and lots of love can do! He’s no longer a sad little “conure” :rolleyes:

He was within the same family for 19 years.

So Guy I bought him from used to date a girl 20 years ago. While they were together, she bought Ripley (whose name was Emerald at the time). When they broke up, she left "Emerald" behind and her mom (maybe his mom? I can't remember) took Emerald in and called him "Polly". When Mom died, no one else wanted him so Guy took him in and renamed him "Bird".
