Today my family and I went to Lake Waramaug and we saw a fammily of (black?) ducks. One of the chicks (all almost fully feathered) only had half of his bill, he is visiblely smaller than his siblings, he had troble eating and his siblings steal food from him. I'm pretty sure that my mom is going to contact the Audubon Society to see if there's anything that thay can do for the little dude because we're pretty sure that the little half-billed duck won't make it though the winter if he even makes it that long.
To end on a better note, today when we went to Washington, CT to get lunch we saw three little (tree?) swallow chicks perched in an adorable way, and their parents would periodically fly up and feed them! They were sooooooo cute!
(By the way, if I could I would take in that duck if he really needed it)
