Read up on your knots! I used to know what kind of knots to use for rope-on-rope but I totally forgot since I dropped out of Scouts! :(

Hi victoria,

I did not knot it, I used zip ties. I cut pieces that were about 3 feet long and lied them out next to each other. Then, I cut shorter pieces and lied them cross ways over the first set of ropes. Then, I just zip tied them together. I folded the ends over and then zip tied then just crossed and zip tied the middle ones. Here it is.

I made a smaller one with knots, but it's all lopsided and crazy because I really didn't know what I was doing, but they love them both.

Just lay out your grid of ropes on the floor and start zip tying. Pretty basic. 50 feet of rope will make a about a 3ft square net with 6 inch spacing. Cut all your pieces first and lay them out how you would like them.

I'm looking forward to seeing your handiwork Victoria. I have been thinking about how I can revamp my bird room. It is sooo boring.

50 ft is not going to make a huge net, especially if you use knots because knots take up a lot of the length. You may want to go with the zip tie option. :)

I agree, 50 ft isn't that much. Use zipties to save you lots of time and rope!! :)
