Thanks everyone. I think part of me is still in shock. It was just so unexpected. I took him today to get cremated. As ridiculous as it sounds, I felt awful leaving him there. I have his cage covered but still haven't done anything with it yet.

How is Elvis taking it?

Thank you. All the birds have been a bit subdued, Elvis especially. For awhile, it was just Elvis and Scooter before I adopted the others. So, I think he definitely misses him. I left Scooter in his cage for awhile and all the birds just stared at him. So, I think they understood that he was gone. He was such a sweet, easy bird. The house definitely feels emptier without him.

Elvis has still been a bit off. He's been wanting to go and look at the other cockatiels. Finally, I just uncovered Scooter's cage and let Elvis stand on it so he could see that Scooter wasn't there. The tiels seem to be okay but Elvis is really sensitive. Poor guy.
