Good Sized Cage?

Hi,

I was wondering, as someone that hasn't owned a cockatiel before, only budgies, what a good sized cage would be in mm?

The pet shop is likely not to offer a decent sized one as they did that with my budgies and I had to get a bigger cage for them.

Thank you :)

A lot of people use 32x21" flight cages and seem happy with them.

Standard flight cages seem small, TBH. They’re recommended for everything from a pair of budgies to conures, despite obvious size differences.

The bigger the better. If it's a young tiel you're only likely to use the lower part of the cage but they will grow into a large cage soon enough.

Thanks for the advice guys!

When I go to the pet store, I will ask very specific questions when buying the cage. When I got my first two budgies, I made the mistake of assuming the pet store owner was the expert, and only after a week of thinking "this cage looks too small for them both" did I realise it was, so I will see what they have on offer first before buying the bird, I may have to get a cage elsewhere first.

I have this cage for 2 cockatiels: Cage size is: 79x52x130cm or Inches: 31'' x 20'' x 50''

Is that big enough??

Just want to make sure my babies are happy

Remember bar spacing is important too. Should not be 1/2 to 5/8 inch.

I thought 1/2" was ideal, is that a typo?

Looks like a typo to me, bar spacing should be 1/2 - 5/8 of an inch-.
