Probably the last 6 rope perches I have purchased were horribly made. The end caps come off, the wire pokes out, they flop down when attached to the cage...:sigh:

Where do you all buy your rope perches? I mean the cotton white/yellow/green/blue ones. I've ordered from Chewy and purchased from local pet stores.

Not a perch, but my budgies like the ring swings from Oliver's Garden. They're rope.

Oliver's Garden for cotton and Seriously Nutz for Manilla.

King's brand will do in a pinch but admittedly I haven't bought one of theirs in a while.

Boings or bendable perches have a wire running through them :)

I just order the regular Booda brand from Amazon; same ones Chewy carries. :shrug2: The end caps have come off occasionally, but my dweebs usually chew through them at the ends til the perches lose their shape & I have to replace them first. :meh:

Aren't all rope perches were made the same way? I thought the end caps coming off had more to do with me washing them and ruining the glue.

I don’t know that they are made the same way. I’ve just had a run on some particularly bad ones lately, I suppose!

Are Booda and JW the same company?

I got one rope perch from a local bird store 3 years ago and it's still going strong! Unfortunately, however, I don't know what brand it is. But now I just make my own! I buy some rope dog toys, un-bend a wire hanger, put it through, and secure the ends. I just couldn't find any boings that had the right diameter and were long enough...I've only had my homemade boings for a few months, but so far they are holding up really well in the aviary! So you could always try that if you wanted... I hope you find a good perch!

Health & safety here, just make sure you follow Gigibirds' suggestion only if you're into DIY, etc. If you used the wrong cutters, didn't wear safety goggles, etc., I could see this going south.
