I am not going on a vacation with my bird, but if I ever do, I don't know what to do.

There are several options

Take the bird with you
Board the bird with someone or a business
Leave your bird home and hire a sitter

I always recommend having a good sitter on hand. It makes life easier.

For road trips/places we go to by car, I take Pistache
For day trips or up to even one night (but NEVER more than 24 hours), I leave her at home with music playing
I personally will never board her, because I do not trust the places where I currently live.
And for any long trips (2 weeks - a month+) or trips that involve an airplane, we have a wonderful house sitter/family friend who stays with the animals for us.

Vacations and pets are hard....but if you have a friend or family member who can stay with your bird it will make your life so much easier!
