Tteok makes a game of it where I will get him right up to the door, and then he'll fly away for me to come get him and try again - rinse and repeat 3 or 4 times

Isadora goes in pretty easily, and then screams for me while I'm trying to leave the room.

Our Sun Conure and Cockatiels have toys that we can tuck/hide larger seeds in. (A lot of Planet Pleasures toys are designed with this in mind!) Sprite, the Sun Conure, watched me do this a few times. Then she wanted to go in the cage and get the seeds. She also gets a fruit chunk treat sometimes....she will settle down on a perch and wait for it.

One of our Cockatiels, Pepper, slowly began to perch on our hands and eat treats, before he would even leave the cage. It's typically easy to move him back inside. Kona tends to follow Pepper's lead much of the time. Once Pepper is inside the cage and snacking on millet/seeds, Kona will choose to go in. Now Kona is starting to perch on hands, too (after watching Pepper for so long). I can slowly put him inside the cage. He might fly away at first, like Xoetix's Tteok, but he is learning!

The Budgies like millet and small seeds a lot. They simply sit on my hands and allow me to move them into the cage. And if one/two of them are not there, they usually follow.

I must say I have it good. If I have to go out through the day, I will just tell them "Come on you have to go in. Mummy has to go out."
Frankie will bring 'his toy' over for me to pick up and put on the kitchen table until I get back. He goes right in his cage no problem. Same thing at night. At 9pm I will call through that it's almost bed time. Within 2 minutes he is up on his cage platform waiting to make sure I pick up 'his toy' before going in his cage.
Miss Dolly is easy to put in. I just put her on her cage platform and tell her she needs to go in and tell her why. (I am going out, or time for bed).
She just goes to her back perch and settles in.

I tell Mojo to step up ask her for a kiss she kisses me and i put her in her cage, Kiki depends on her mood she either steps up and i put her in her cage or i point to the perch on the inside on her door tell her home and she flys to the perch and heads into her cage.

Ironically my Opie is the only one who really goes home on command!
Just this afternoon she was chilling in her travel carrier that sits on top of her cage (she likes to just sit there and see everything) and I thought I was really going to have to lure her.. but I said "time to go home" as I walked toward the treat table, and she was waiting inside her cage for me by the time I got her almond.

Amara just steps up and I put her in.
Oggie has to be lured with a promise of scritches.
Budgies have to be lured with millet

I tell them time to go back and tap cage door perch . As soon as one goes they all are there ready to go in. If I even walk over to their cages they usually rush to get in
:cloud9:

They are happy with good birdie and kisses for rewards. But I randomly put in great treats keep them guessing!

Ralph is pretty good about returning to his cage. I just have to tell him "Come on with me. It's time to go back to your house," and he almost always climbs onto my arm right away to head back to the cage. Sometimes he lets me know that he wants to go back, just by looking in the direction of his cage and saying (in Quaker Parrot language), graaaccckk. That message gets through to me clearly enough.

Willow goes back pretty easily, too. I think he loves to be cuddled, but he doesn’t have many toys outside his cage. He has a great selection inside his cage and he always runs up to his top perch and beaks just favorite dangly toy before anything else.

Jasper sometimes needs a bribe to go back in to her cage. She doesn’t want to be out, doesn’t want to be in, doesn’t want to be on her tree… so she pinches pretty hard. As soon as she starts getting antsy I try to move to make her more happy.

For Bebe the term is "cage up". When he first came to my home he knew basically nothing for commands. If let out of his cage he fly in circles until exhausted. He is extremely afraid of hands even now. I use a gray kitchen hand towel to scoop him up in. And he will bite the geez out of your hand with towel.
I started working with him daily on cage up.
Now he is old hand at caging up except when he is being lil monster and I don't have to listen to anything you say.

Willow used to have to step up onto a dark towel covering my hand. He would bite my hand if it wasn’t covered. Now he will step out and into the cage on my bare hand but the towel is nearby in case anyone has an issue.
