Don't sell yourself shortGot it. I'll update you once I get the dyes how it goes tying them. I wouldn't keep my hopes up though, my toys will probably be ugly compared to your literal pieces of art!!!![]()
This is such a cute idea. My mind went to a sola version that would be pretty low effort if assembled on a skewer.@Mizzely @Emma&pico
So this is my current design. I cut balsa into this shape and I'm waiting for my dyes to come in.
Last months squawk box we got japan themed toys. Instead of putting it into his cage directly I want to work on making a full set of toys for him with that theme.
My first idea is to make a "bamboo forest" with balsa. They would be varying sizes (so varying amount of rectangles tall) at first I thought I would glue them together and then add a screw on the back that I could then mount to the side of the cage. Now what I'm thinking is to skewer them like on a fruit skewer.. but I'm a little bit at a loss on how to attach the straw heart on the top to make it look more bamboo-y. What do you guys think?
Also yes the reference here was definetly the minecraft bamboo. Lol.

This string I use too just to give you an idea
Thank you! I'm trying to get into doing more things with my hands, I feel it really helps with my mental health! We'll see how it turns out but this is definetly something that's super fun, and the reaction my bird makes is literally the best thing anyone could ask for. He gets really curious and makes his neck long like he's super surprised and then running around whenever I put some stuff together. Thus far I've been repairing old toys but this will be my first own toy. So we'll see how it goes. This is such a cute idea. I haven't made bird toys in forever, I love seeing how creative people get with it.
I used to mostly only make toys for my budgies. I had a tight budget most of the time.Thank you! I'm trying to get into doing more things with my hands, I feel it really helps with my mental health!
