Hi everyone!
So this might be a weird question, but my girlfriend and I have a Congo African Grey, and I'm also a pilot. We would enjoy flying to visit family for the holidays instead of driving, but general aviation is quite noisy.
Does anyone know if this would be hard on a parrot's ears? I know they have hearing protection for dogs (see link below), but not sure if the noise would be dangerous for a parrot's hearing or not. I am aware of other risks such as Carbon Monoxide in the heating systems of older aircraft an hypoxia, but both of those are easy enough obstacles to avoid.
Mutt Muffs Dog Hearing Protection - from Sporty's Pilot Shop
Additional info: I typically fly a Cessna 172XP between 3,000 ft MSL and 6,000 ft MSL.
I have looked around online, but haven't found anything yet. I will also try contacting my local avian specialist.
Thanks!
