Jogging around the block
This is an honour I really dont want to have - being the first person to post in Heaven's Gate.
As some of you know we had a sick Quail a few months ago who was almost mistaken for being dead until his mouth opened, he was brought inside and put under a lamp, after a month of intensive treatment got well enough to go back outside in a smaller group of 3 - him and his 2 girlies.
On Thursday as I was getting ready to have 2 days away he was brought in again as the same thing happened again, but within an hour of being under the lamp he was awake and jumping out my hand, I was suprised when I called home the next day to be told he was back outside already - mum thought he must have just got cold.
Well today it happened again, he was brought in again and put under the lamp, he just looked different - more lifeless, I picked him up and put him to my cheek as I can usually detect breathing easiest like that, he was cold and I couldnt really feel any breathing, we left him in the tin foil for another half an hour just to be sure, as mum wanted to make sure he was dead, after nearly burying him last time, but alas hes really gone this time.
I put him in a cadboard box, unfortunatly we cant risk burying him for two reasons, one being the dog might dig him up and two being we have a lot of cats around and they might do the same thing.
Thanks to everyone who helped us with him, at least we can say we tried, and he had a chance he wouldnt have had if mum had not noticed he had been breathing.
