How stiff are full size Nutriberries? How easy would it be to crumble them for budgies?

I can only find the Pumpkin Spice flavour with an Amazon on the package, so they’re probably a bit big for budgies.

I really want to try them, but don’t want to wind up with me, the bag & a hammer.

I find the bigger size ones are softer. I buy the "parrot" sized for my tiels and crumble them. They're softer than the cockatiel size for some weird reason.

I agree that the larger ones tend to be softer!

They have "small" (cockatiel, conures etc) and "parrot" size for the flavored Nutriberries :)

I’m trying to order from within Canada, so I’ll have to see if they’re in the shop too. Duty can really bite here!

The Pumpkin Spice Nutriberries have shipped. We shall soon see if they live up to their reputation.

These are so much easier to work with! I cut them up with scissors & it seems like at least one budgie has tried them!!! All pieces were missing from one dish & I couldn’t find them on the floor/cage bottom.

I need to do more definitive tests by putting them in a separate bowl & secretly spying. I really want them to eat better!

The vet recommended Nutriberries for my two budgies as I was having trouble getting them to eat pellets. I lightly smash a few Nutriberries with a small mortar and pestle (used for spices) in the evening. First thing in the morning, when they are hungry, I put the crushed Nutriberries in their food cups. My younger budgie just goes for them, the older is more hesitant but does eat. Around 1pm, I check their bowls and top up if necessary with more Nutriberries and some seed. Around dinner, I give them just seed. During the day, I give them whatever fruits and vegetables I'm eating or have in the house. The vet also suggested adding a multivitamin powder to their diet every other day, as some things e.g. iodine cannot be consumed through their diet. Also, he emphasized the powder as the liquid has lost potency in the manufacturing process. You can add the powder to their drinking water or a favorite wet food e.g. mashed bananas, cucumber, peaches.
