Hey!
So my mother in law (who I currently live with) had one of her caiques pass away a few months ago, she had two and the one who passed hated me, avidly chased me and bit me whenever possible (I came in to her life late so I assume she bonded with the max amount of people, she was also my fiancées bird she loved him and I think she was jealous but I don’t know enough about caiques to know for sure)
ANYWAY
My mother in law picked up the first available caique listed about a month after the “mean” bird died and it’s been about 5 months he’s been in the house. He chased me the one time I went upstairs when they were out of their cage (they have free reign of the living room) and I want to be friends with him (I love just sitting and petting the “nice” caique she has) but the new bird is WAY bigger and I’m scared of him tearing a chunk out of me.
How do I try to make friends with him and not lose a chunk of my arm at the same time? I really would love to be able to go upstairs during the day and play with both of them.
