Merlin can get up during the night and play, too. And she's most active late in the evening. Our blind birds might not be as in tune with day/night.

The vet laughed, too, and said, "Because she can't see!"

Sometimes she sleeps all afternoon and then is crazy active until past midnight. Or I will hear her tossing blocks around at 3am.

Freedom had her 1st shower today she did great. I was very surprised when she stepped right up on the rope perch for me to put her on the stand for the shower. She did a little screaming when she didn't know where she was but then calmed down and just walked around during her shower.

Wow all the way over there. Well I know we have some K9 eye specialists here in Socal but I would assume if it was an option they would say someone at UC Davis? I remember when I wanted Macey to get the surgery so she wouldn't lay anymore eggs no local avian vets felt comfortable doing it :\

I think there is one here in Utah, I will check. I know a guy who rescues Cockatoos that had it done on one of his. I will get the info and get it to you. I have thought about doing it for Sarge. Thank you for taking Freedom in

Here is the info on the dr. here in Utah that can do this operation. Her name is Nicole MacLaren she is at the clinic called Eye Care for Animals, she at 1021 east 3300 south Salt Lake. She is a great Vet. I would highly recomend het. ( a little pricy but damn good ) the phone is 801-842-4302. She quoted between $1250-1500 per eye. Something to look into.
