It is a canary, tell them to let it in, get better photos and post on parrot 911 and other sites. Someone is missing their baby! They say it is trying to come into their house. Is it a canary? I don't think those are domestic? Advice? It is at a farm and they have some knowledge of birds as in chickens and guinea.

Well I have never seen one of those before - good call. Might be!It looks like it might be a female Western tanager?
Please tell her to just let it in and save it from the outside birds.I can't find that Western Tanagers are in michigan, only scarlet tanagers. ?
I appreciate the help! She sent a video that I am not sure how to post, dersperately trying to get in and being harrased by a slightly larger bird.
That's what I was thinking. Seeing it's reflection in the glass. Also is it possible that it's an immature male "sparring" with his reflections in order to establish territory?
We have that happen with the little wrens we get here and I have never known of anyone to mistake the sparring with a reflection for a bird wanting to get in- I suppose it is possible but I would be surprised if an adult mistook the two. Also is it possible that it's an immature male "sparring" with his reflections in order to establish territory?
