I have a little visitor here...found this guy sitting in the planter on my porch, he is banded, and I was able to walk right up to him. I googled a bit before securing him in a cage...he is quite comfortable being handled. I have called the club where he was banded, and apparently he is quite off track as he was supposed to fly from VT to NY...his home is about a 7 hour drive from here. The club was going to call the owner and let him know what's going on. I gave him dove seed and he definitely chowed down. Anyways, here he is..hopefully he can go home.

I would be very careful. Since he has been outside he may have picked up an illness that could be transfered to one of your birds.

Ooo he's so gorgeous. Poor thing looks exhausted.

Awesome job finding his home. Hopefully he'll get back to where he belongs.

Thank you for giving him food and water and a place to sleep. You are a compassionate person. Keep us posted about his outcome.

That is so cool that you were able to find where he belongs. I hope people with pigeons are as bonded as parrot people are to their birds and they come to reclaim him.

Pretty Pigeon, glad you located his owner! The previous place we lived we found quite a lot of Pigeons injured or sick, but they ended up passing away. :( I would never walk away from a sick or injured Pigeon again though, I feel just as bad as if it were one of my own birds.
