Found a parakeet!

I still don't have a baby budgie...if I lived near you...I would surely become his mommy! My dream is to have a budgie find me!

Very young baby! He probably flew out someone’s door. If not that, then he could’ve been released intentionally. Sadly many people do that with budgies when they become bored of them. Make a post on your local lost and found pet classifieds as well as parrot alert! You did a good thing bringing him in he likely would’ve died if nobody found him.

There is no band on his leg unfortunately. Would it have to be a private home breeder then? I would assume any bird from a pet store would have to have a leg band?

Surprisingly it’s usually the opposite! Hobby breeders band budgies much more often than pet stores. (Though not all do!) This is because many people who breed Budgies also show them in competitions, so they need identification. Pet stores usually just buy bulk budgies from lower quality mass breeders so identification isn’t important to them or those large scale breeders.

Doesn't look clipped to me. I see flights. A clipped budgie wouldn't make it to someone's barn.

He can definitely fly! We are at least a 1/4 mile from the nearest neighbors and we def saw him fly. He is doing well so far!

He is just an escapee that found you. Can you keep him since he chose you?

We have had absolutely no luck finding an owner so he will be part of the family!
